Six Things to Do When You’re Trying Everything But Growth is Still Elusive

No, it’s not “try harder”.

You’ve been showing up.
You’ve been launching, marketing, learning, tweaking.
You’ve implemented the strategies, built the offers, maybe even hired a coach or two.

But the renewed momentum still isn’t there. The next income level still isn’t consistent. The growth feels like it’s on pause.

And you’re starting to wonder - what more could I possibly be missing?

Let me tell you something first: you’re not behind. You’re not broken. You’re not bad at this.

You’re simply being invited into a deeper kind of alignment.

Sometimes, the growth isn’t being withheld - it’s waiting on the space to fully manifest.

Here are a few places (in no particular order) I encourage my clients (and myself) to return to when they’re in this liminal, frustrating, ripe space of “I’m doing everything… and it’s still not working.”

No. 1: Pause & Simplify

I know this sounds counterintuitive when you feel like things should be taking off, but trying harder won’t always get you further.

Sometimes the real work is pausing long enough to listen:
What’s actually working?
What feels good and generative?
What’s become bloated, draining, or performative?

Taking the time to tend to simplicity doesn’t mean you’re shrinking - you’re refining; pruning what’s no longer aligned so that what is can finally bloom.

You don’t need more moving parts. You need the right ones working in harmony.

No. 2: Rest (yes, actual rest)

And not just the kind of “rest” that’s really scrolling TikTok while your nervous system stays in high alert.

I mean nervous system restoration kind of rest.
Eyes-closed. Phone-down. Sun-on-your-face. Body-breathing. Presence-in-your-being kind of rest.

You’re not a machine. You’re an ecosystem. If your soil is depleted, it doesn’t matter how many seeds you plant - nothing will root.

You don’t have to earn your rest. It’s not a reward for hitting a goal.
It’s the precursor to clarity, magnetism, and growth.

And if being unplugged for an extended period of time feels daunting, give yourself the gift of whatever feels supportive - even if it’s only 10 minutes.

No. 3: Look at Who (or What) is Supporting You

This one can sting. But it’s important.

Are you surrounded by support that sees the real you - the bigness, the brilliance, the boldness you’re here to embody? And is helping you embody that more fully?

Or are you held by systems, people, or structures that actually keep you in old patterns of smallness, over-efforting, or confusion?

Sometimes we don’t grow because we’ve outgrown the support structures we built when we were playing a different game.

That includes systems, service providers, spiritual practices - anything.  Audit your support. Make sure it matches the version of you you’re becoming, not the one you’ve already outlived.

No. 4: Get Into New Rooms, Places & Spaces

If you keep asking the same questions in the same rooms with the same people, you’ll keep getting the same answers.

Shake things up. Put yourself in proximity to people who are living in the frequency you’re calling in. Not to copy them, but to remember what’s possible.

You don’t need to abandon your values to find success.
You just might need new models. New mirrors. New conversations.

Let yourself expand by association.

(I had a great experience with this, connecting with a new, soulfully ambitious foundress friend, Sophie).

No. 5: Dive Into Your Desires

What do you actually want?

Not what sounds good.
Not what you said you wanted 18 months ago.
Not what looks great on paper or would impress your old mentor.

What actually lights your fire right now?
What feels true in your gut, even if it’s scary? Even if it’s quieter than the ego’s ambition?

Sometimes growth stalls because we’re chasing goals that no longer match our internal compass. Give yourself permission to course-correct. Desire is data.

No. 6: Deepen in Self-Trust

I say this with reverence: the deeper you trust yourself, the less you’ll be thrown off when growth takes time.

This is the inner initiation many of us try to skip - the willingness to believe in our work before the results show up. Spend time communing with your vision and mission; reminding yourself of the why behind what you do and how you’re uniquely gifted to bring it about.

When your own self-trust is low, lean into your community. Let your sisterhood remind you of who the f*ck you are and what the fc*k you’re brining into this world.

In Closing

Growth is not always linear.
It’s seasonal. Spiraled. Sometimes it looks like stillness, but underneath, deep roots are taking hold.

If you’re trying everything and still not seeing growth, try less.
Try listening. Try resting. Try realigning.

You’re not missing the magic.
You are the magic.
And the right support can help you finally harness it, sustainably and soulfully.

I’m cheering for you! And if you’d like to work together to build the kind of infrastructure that actually holds your brilliance, you know where to find me.
