Healing, Money, and Going Off Social Media (2026 Update)
Happenings in this weft of the Golden Tapestry
Traipsing through eastern Ghana in September of last year.

Length: 13:21
This month, I’m stretching myself and intentionally sharing more of what’s going on in my world, as well as giving you a taste of what’s in store for The Library audio blog.
In this issue I talk about:
Healing — going deeper into my childhood, my previous marriage, and how healing isn’t linear — it’s a beautiful spiral downward.
Redecorating my home — turning our house into a shared sanctuary, and how my “grandmother desk” is now my CEO altar.
Going off social media — and how stepping away led to more local connections, more clients, and less soul depletion.
Money — I’m starting a new theme: how to steward money both tangibly and energetically; in your business and personal life.
Big news — I got into 1 Million Black Women accelerator (funded by Goldman Sachs + NYU Stern) — and I’m going to New York for the first time
Thank you for being here. I am delighted to spend 2026 (and onwards!) with you.
If there’s anyone you believe would enjoy coming along the ride, feel free to share this, and any other blog articles, with them.

Hey, hey, hey, welcome to the library.
Today I want to do a bit of a departure from my straight up business, inner leadership kind of vibe and share a little bit more about what's been going on in my life personally and where I want to take this audio blog over the next year.
I'm really excited.
I've been sitting with this for a while, for a while.
Really wanting to both express in a different way and in a deeper way while also making sure that what I'm expressing is helpful for you and moves the needle in your business and life.
So before I dive into that part, I do want to talk about life, life as it's been.
I know I really appreciate receiving updates from the people I'm connected to.
So I will share and I will give you that.
As I'm recording this, which is January, probably just maybe a few days or a week before it's going to drop, I'm coming out of a bit of hibernation slash shutdown mode, hibernation on the positive side, a little bit of shutdown mode on the more negative side.
It's been a year of a lot of deep emotional work as I've continued to heal from my marriage and as I've been navigating a new relationship and recognizing the different things that pop up in myself as a result of both of those things and of late diving into my childhood again, I was like, I thought I'm completely healed from all those things, right?
But so often healing is a downward spiral in a positive way.
I think of spiraling downwards as positive, like rooting down into the earth.
And so, you know, we might hit the same point on the y-axis, but really we're going deeper.
Or the x-axis.
Anyways, it can feel like we're going in circles, but when we zoom out or zoom to the side, we see that we're going deeper and deeper.
And that's kind of what I feel like I'm experiencing, but on the external side, I have, so I moved in with my boyfriend last year and we have in the past few months really undertaken turning the house upside down and creating a space that feels like a true shared space for all four of us.
And I have my office now, I am recording from my office at this big old solid ass desk that just feels like it's holding all my hopes and dreams so securely.
It's a grandmother desk.
It's just solid.
And I have seen an incredible energy shift, grounding, stabilization from having the space that I can just soak in, that can also be soaked in my energy, that I can come in and just shift into the identity of, you know, CEO.
It feels tremendous.
If you've seen, if you've been on the journey and have seen all the iterations of business that I've done and things I've dabbled in, you know, that houses and homes and energetic cleanliness is very important to me.
So this has been super fun.
And just the act of rearranging stuff has freed up a lot of energy in our relationship, my relationship with my girls, like homes matter so much.
I, that's why I love switching things up a whole bunch.
So if you're feeling stuck, I think one of the best things to do is just rearrange, declutter and you will just get so much inspiration.
So that that's been a thing.
And last kind of big thing is that I have been off of social media, you may have noticed I've had a few people be like, Where are you at?
And I'm like, I'm so sorry.
In the past, I have sent a little note or posted on my story that like, I might be going off.
But this time, I was like, fuck it, I'm just gonna go because I don't want to make a whole big announcement and then be back in two weeks.
But it's been a long time coming.
Because like all of 2025, I really grappled with feeling like I needed to be on social media to make strides in my business.
Especially I didn't have a car for most of 2025.
You know, not being able to get out and do in person networking.
But feeling like I just, my soul was like, I don't want to be on here anymore.
So I finally made the leap.
And wouldn't you guess it, I signed two new clients, just have had more momentum have made a lot of good local connections, having a car definitely helps with that now.
And so that has been a delightful change.
And my energy has been more laser focused on the audio blog and my intention for it in local connections and nurturing the connections that are existing.
And that has felt really, really good.
I was telling somebody that for me, and I'm gonna say for me, this is not prescriptive.
I'm not saying that this is how it is.
This is social media.
This is not social media.
This is how it is.
For me, social media represented false abundance because there were so many people on social media.
So I was, I was attributing abundance with sheer volume and numbers and potential.
The potentiality, you know, there's billions.
But shifting locally, I feel like I've plugged into an abundance that truly lands in my body.
And this abundance is, I am unique, and I am a category of one in my community.
And so I don't need to compete with all these other voices or and not not that you need to quote unquote compete online, but I mean, it, there is competition in a capitalistic society, right?
I don't I am not being compared to a whole host of other people who are doing similar or adjacent things like I am a cat, I'm in a category of one.
And now my abundance is in the relationship, my abundance is in my own unique path.
And it just feels like a much more self contained and controllable situation feels a lot less despondent.
But again, that was for me and the work that I do for some people social media is the jam and you should be on there or both, you know.
So looking forward, like I mentioned, I've really been sitting with the audio blog because I love love love this space.
I love that I have shifted to this audio format.
I love that it's not syndicated on any of the platforms yet.
I just love the sovereignty of owning the space and curating it and letting these special notes go out to you guys, and knowing a lot of the people, I mean, I know everybody on the list, right?
We've met most of us.
And that delights me.
But I have kind of struggled with what like how to structure my thinking around it, and have had some recent clarity, and I'm super excited to share.
So as I have been doing, I will continue to to drop these twice a month.
You have likely seen the new email format.
It feels really delicious to me, I will continue to share other podcasts that I've been on other happenings around the golden tapestry.
If you my dear listener have anything going on that you think would benefit my community, like let me know, I am happy to take a look and see if it makes sense to put it in the email.
My goal is to provide resources.
I am going to shift from pop up topics to themes.
So we are going to have these narrative arcs that define the year and I'm super excited.
It's going to allow us to soak in an idea, me as I am conveying my thoughts and sitting with it and really pulling together experiences, even bringing guests.
And for you the listener, it will give you a chance to soak in the topic as well and hear about it from many different angles.
So for example, the first theme that we're diving into is money.
I've been doing a lot of cleanup work with my business finances and my personal finances and guiding clients through that as well.
And I have a lot to share about this because I think that that is one of the big areas that many business owners will go, I mean great distances, like to millions sometimes and not have this in place.
I know a business owner right now that is making a million dollars in top line revenue and finances are a painful point.
And the organization of them, the engaging with them.
And so the sooner you can interact with your finances in a way that is supportive, that is empowering, that is clear, and that is forward thinking, the sooner you can reduce the stress that's probably weighing on you, the sooner you can move more powerfully because you feel confident in your ability to hold and steward what is headed your way.
So we're going to talk about money, probably for a couple of months from different angles.
From your business finances, literally how do you set up your finances for success to personal?
How does this trickle down to the energetics of it?
People talk about the energetics of money so much, but I'm going to join the fray.
And I might record a conversation with somebody who is a financial professional and we might dive into that as well.
So I'm really excited.
That's an example of one theme that we will be tackling and then we'll have others throughout the year.
For myself, leadership, which will go into more of the interplanes kind of work, I have a few architectures that I use within myself and with my clients that have been really tremendous in cutting through loops and spirals of fight or flight, of self-doubt, et cetera.
And I would love to share them with you.
So functionally, nothing will really change that much, but you can just expect to see these longer narrative arcs, to see me in your inbox twice a month, expect to hear some conversations that are not just me, but others.
And I will be toying with the length.
It feels, in my mind, I'm like, I want to make this punchy, I want to make this a five minute thing, right?
Because I'm coming from a blog post, which may take you max 10 minutes to read to this 12 minute voice note.
But I think I'm going to shift my mind around that and consider this as more of a podcast and really give you guys some deep information.
That's again, clear, not just fluff, but goes deep, because we need to talk about this stuff.
I think that we do talk about New Earth, Golden Age, next level matriarchal business, but what the fuck does that actually mean?
How does this impact my accounting spreadsheet today?
How does that impact the tech that I choose?
And I want to talk about that.
So as always, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, and I'm sure if you know me, you know this is true.
I want to hear from you.
Let me know what you think.
Let me know about topics that have been stirring within you that you just are itchy about.
You want to hear more about, tell me, let's see if I can talk about it or bring some guests on to talk about it.
Let me know if there's anything you want to talk about.
Let me know if there's somebody you think I should talk to or bring on.
Anything like that.
Let me know things that make you feel disgruntled, things you don't like about this, things that would make your experience easier.
All of those things.
I want to hear them.
I think that's all.
I think that's all I've got.
This was almost like a housekeeping podcast episode, but I'm so glad you're here.
I'm so thrilled to continue this journey with you and excited for what 2026 holds.
Oh, one other thing I want to celebrate and share.
I applied for, I know this is like, I was like wrapping down, wrapping down, wrapping up, slow and whatever, but I remember this and I'm trying to be better about, I am better now about celebrating myself and my accomplishments.
I applied for a business accelerator called 1 Million Black Women.
It's funded by Goldman Sachs and includes 12 weeks of curriculum done by NYU's Stern Business School.
We get one-on-one business advisor group meetings.
They fly us out to New York twice, at the beginning and at the end, and we get a stipend.
After a long application process, I was selected.
I'm celebrating that too.
That is another fun thing that will be happening this year.
I'm sure that will influence some of the content and the way I show up here as well.
So I will keep you posted on all that.
Baby girl's going to New York.
Yes, I've never been.
I am so excited to go.
In my mind, it's filled with so much magic and just sensuality and like a little bit of transience and just, yeah, it's, I've put all these fanciful imaginations, but I'm so excited to be in those city lights at night and just, oh, there's something about a city at night.
Anywho, I hope that you are well.
I hope that January has been treating you well.
May you continue to be nourished, to support yourself and to surround yourself with those supporting you.
Until next time.
